About the Event
Day of the Dead Activities / Día de Muertos Actividades
Fishers Arts Council is offering free activities for the community to learn about and contribute to an "Community Altar" by honoring those who have passed on. Participants are encouraged to bring a photo of a friend or loved one (1" x 1") or have one printed at the gallery to create a "mini ofrenda" (offering). Participants can also build a tissue paper cempasuchil (marigold), decorate a calavera (skull), share a note/story on a mariposa (butterfly), and more . Activities are recommended for ages 5 and up, but younger ones can participate with a family member's help. Live music will be performed by El Mariachi Solo. Artisan vendors round out our enhanced event experience.
Items created/you wish to contribute will be added to Community Altar, which will be on display from October 19-31, Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm in Fishers Municipal Center. The…
