ARTIST CALL OUT: Community Exhibits for May and June

MAY EXHIBIT: Art that Heals: Focusing on Mental Health

This exhibit focuses on mental health and how creating helps with processing emotions and working through difficult times. Additionally, artwork created with the goal of bringing joy to oneself and others is welcome. Artists from all over Central Indiana (and beyond) are welcome.


2-D works must be prepped with a wire, weigh no more than 50 lbs., and not exceed more than 5' in any direction. 3-D work is not available for this exhibit. Artists who are interested will be interviewed during our reception by board member, Pat Grabill. These interviews will be videotaped.

This exhibit will be open to the public from April 29-May 31, 2024

Monday-Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM, excluding holidays. Fridays by appointment.

There will be a free Second Friday public reception on Friday, May 10, from 6-8 PM

Live music by Scrapper & Skelton, refreshments, community, and Art that Heals!


DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: 3:00PM EST on Friday, April 12, 2024

Artists will be notified of their acceptance into the exhibit by/before April 19, 2024 Artwork Drop Off: Saturday, April 27 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Artwork Pick Up: Saturday, June 1 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

JUNE EXHIBIT: The Golden Age: Artists 50 and Better

This exhibit celebrates artists of a certain age, whether they are well-seasoned veterans or still in their salad days of creativity. All mediums are welcome. Additionally, artists living in assisted living facilities are welcome to submit, and pick-up options are available if drop off is not possible. 2-D works in any medium must be prepped with a wire, weigh no more than 50 lbs., and not exceed more than 5' in any direction. 3-D work is permitted, but only five pieces can be accepted. Size limitations vary - submit your work and we can discuss possibilities. Artists who are interested will be interviewed during our reception by board member, Pat Grabill. These interviews will be videotaped.


This exhibit will be open to the public from June 3 - 28, 2024

Monday-Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM, excluding holidays. Fridays by appointment.

There will be a free Second Friday public reception on Friday, June 14, from 6-8 PM

Live music, refreshments, community, and work by Golden Artists!

Artists will be notified of their acceptance into the exhibit by/before May 24, 2024 Artwork Drop Off: Saturday, June 1 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM  Artwork Pick Up: Saturday, June 29 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to submit for this opportunity, artists must:

· Be a resident of Indiana (priority given to Fishers residents, if necessary);

· Provide family friendly art that matches the theme of the exhibit.


REQUIREMENTS:

· Provide three (3) to six (6) pieces of art (with a possibility of more)

· Be available to drop off art as mentioned for the specific exhibit

· Have the art on exhibit during the entire exhibit period listed above

· Be available to pick up art as mentioned for the specific exhibit

· Meet the FAC hanging/display requirements (see addendum 1 below)

· Preferred attendance at public reception, for the specific exhibit
