Artist Statement
MARGOT BOGUE
​
There is nothing more exciting than ‘seeing’ something to paint - stopping dead in my tracks and saying, “I’ve got to paint that!” Whether it is a city block I have viewed many times, or a bowl of oranges catching the sunlight on my kitchen table, I am compelled to paint as if I am seeing it for the first time. I believe something significant happens when I transfer my life experience to canvas. My hope is that others will share this experience when viewing my paintings.
