About the Event

Fishers Arts Council presents a new experience for Spark!Fishers: Spark! of Creativity

Even though Spark!Fishers is cancelled, Fishers Arts Council has found a new way to bring their event, Spark! of Creativity, to you! 

On Saturday, June 27th from 3pm-8pm, live art classes will be available on our Facebook page at the top of each hour. Materials for each class will be made available for FREE (or a small donation if you wish to make one). Kits for each class will be available for pick up at the Fishers Farmer's Market on June 20th and June 27th. Details about pick up will be emailed to each registrant. 3PM - 4PM "Watercolor Techniques" with Megan Jefferson - WAITING LIST ONLY

This class is for all ages, but parental guidance is advised for children aged 10 and younger. We will learn watercolor techniques, and then create watercolor flowers. Feel free to pick a small bouquet before class to reference. You will be provided with: paint brush, watercolor paper, 8 watercolor paints, sea salt and a white crayon. Participants will need to provide their own paper towel and cup of water. Limit of 30 watercolor kits available. ALL KITS HAVE BEEN REQUESTED. YOU CAN JOIN THE WAITING LIST.

4PM - 5PM "Introduction to Drawing" with Jeannette Pomeroy Parssi - WAITING LIST ONLY

This class is for all ages, but parent guidance will be needed for those 8 and younger. In this basic drawing class, we will introduce the concepts of tonal value (color), shape and line. Join in the fun as we do drawing exercises and create a still life from white objects. You will be provided with: a sharpened 2B drawing pencil, kneaded eraser, pencil sharpener, and paper. Limit of 30 drawing kits available. ALL KITS HAVE BEEN REQUESTED. YOU CAN JOIN THE WAITING LIST.

5PM - 6PM "Oil Painting" with Walt Thacker - WAITING LIST ONLY

This class is recommended for ages 12 and up. In this class, we will be painting a red barn in a country setting. You will be provided with: 9 different oil paints, 5 brushes, a cellulose sponge, plastic paint palette, palette knife, canvas board, and Gamsol (odor-free mineral spirits). Limit of 10 oil painting kits available. Oil painting kits are only available for pick-up on June 27th.  ALL KITS HAVE BEEN REQUESTED. YOU CAN JOIN THE WAITING LIST.

6PM - 7PM "Stoneware Birds" with Stephanie Dennis with additional support from Kiln Creations - WAITING LIST ONLY

This class is recommended for ages 12 and up. You will be provided with: 2 pounds of stoneware clay, a pottery tool set, and one can of spray paint (orange or blue) to color your bird after it is bisque fired by Kiln Creations. Limit of 25 stoneware kits available. ALL KITS HAVE BEEN REQUESTED. YOU CAN JOIN THE WAITING LIST.

7PM - 8PM "Acting with Emotions and Monologues" with Ryan T. Shelton

Actors of all ages and abilities will work on how to use real emotions to act a monologue.  You will be given keys to acting, time to practice the monologue, and receive feedback to help make your delivery better.  Make sure to be familiar with the monologue before class, but do not memorize it.  This class is for all ages, but parental guidance may be needed with reading for younger participants. You will be provided with: printed monologue. Participants can also download the monologue if they don't want a hard copy. Class size will be limited to 20 participants to ensure everyone gets individual time with the instructor. This class will require registration and a Zoom meeting link will be provided. 4 spots remaining
