More than 40 artists ready for Art in the Park

FISHERS — Art in the Park will return to Fishers on Saturday for its fourth year. The event, sponsored by the Fishers Arts Council, will be “bigger and better than ever,” said Paige Hunkin, a Fishers Arts Council member.

If you’ve admired the many stained glass windows in Fishers area schools, chances are Rita Wrighton helped create them. An accomplished stain glass artist, Rita has worked as an Artist in Residence in over 20 Indiana and Wisconsin elementary schools.

Family Friendly Performers Wanted For Fishers Art in the Park

The Fishers Arts Council (FAC) is seeking a variety of performers for this year’s Art in the Park on Saturday, September 19th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Local bands, dance troupes and family friendly entertainers are encouraged to apply. More than 5,000 people are expected to attend.

Olympic silver medal gymnast Samantha Peszek, who trained at a Fishers studio for many years, was grand marshal of this year’s parade. And the float entered by Life Church, 9820 E. 141st St., Fishers, won top honors: a $500 cash award from the Fishers Arts Council.

The Fishers Arts Council is pleased to announce its second annual Fishers Arts Council’s “Choice Award” for the best float in the 21st Fishers Freedom Festival main parade on Sunday, June 28th. The winner will receive a trophy and a $500 prize.
