Art in Town Hall

Jerome Chambers
CONNECTIVITY: A Fusion of Elements
Opening February 24, 2012

Fishers Town Hall, located at One Municipal Drive, is now the home of a permanent art gallery featuring rotating exhibits. After a successful opening exhibition by Pamela Newell, the gallery welcomes artist Jerome W. Chambers in February.

Chambers’ exhibit, CONNECTIVITY: A Fusion of Elements, is open to the public during normal business hours and from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Admission is free and children are welcome with adult supervision.

Visitors are invited to explore the lobby of Fishers Town Hall to view Chambers’ collection of oil paintings, photography and fine art prints. Chambers is a long-time Fishers resident and a Maryland native.

Art in Town Hall is the collaboration of the Fishers Arts Council and the Town of Fishers. Art in Town Hall features an exhibit of up to 60 works of visual art by an artist or group of artists. The exhibit inside the gallery will change periodically to feature a new artist’s work.

“CONNECTIVITY: A Fusion of Elements” will include images of water, land, fire, humanity and spirit. It represents creation in a visional way.”
- Jerome Chamber

Art in Town Hall was created through a partnership between Fishers Arts Council and the Town of Fishers to bring artists and their artwork directly to Fishers residents within the Town’s center of community and heritage. Residents who are doing business at Town Hall may be surprised with the breadth and quality of art that greets them inside the building.

Call for Artists

The Fishers Arts Council is currently developing its first season of exhibitions for Art in Town Hall. If you are an artist who lives, works or has a connection to Fishers, Indiana (high school graduate) and are interested in being exhibited, please submit the following:

  • Artist Statement and Biography
  • Connection to Fishers, Indiana
  • No more than 10 digital images of each artist’s work, including specific pieces for the show if they are already created. (Please note: Submitted works must be suitable for all audiences, including pre-school children.)
  • Proposed exhibition dates. Please select from the following:
    • March and April
    • May and June
    • July and August
    • September and October
    • A special exhibition in November and December will feature a “6X6 show.” All artists are encouraged to submit work for participation in this special show.

All submissions will be reviewed by a jury selected by the Fishers Arts Council and the Town of Fishers. Artists will be notified by the Fishers Arts Council if selected to determine specific exhibition dates.

Because Fishers Town Hall is so large – accommodating up to 60 works, depending on size – the Fishers Arts Council reserves the right to exhibit multiple artists at one time. Artists are encouraged to develop artist teams. All artwork within a team or group exhibition does not necessarily have to relate according to style, process or medium.

Submissions should be sent via email to Lisa Sirkin Vielee, lisa@graciecomm.com. You also can submit by mail: Lisa Sirkin Vielee, Fishers Arts Council, One Municipal Drive, Fishers, Indiana 46038. Questions or to tour the exhibition space, contact Lisa by email.
